Jude Sivagnanasuntharam is a distinguished musician specialising in Carnatic vocal and flute. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Jaffna. He has received vocal training from renowned gurus including Thirukonamalai Thirumaran, Thakshayani Koteeswaran, Vijayakumari Thavasalingam, Pon Sri Vamadevan and Parameswari Kaneshakambar. Jude’s flute training was under the guidance of Thanunatha Sarma and Flute J. A. Jayanth.
He has been recognised with prestigious awards including the National Youth Award in Carnatic Flute from the National Youth Services Council in 2019 and 2023, the Suppiramaniam Thayanithi Memorial Award 2019 for Carnatic vocal and the M.A. Kulaseelanathan Memorial Award 2019 from the University of Jaffna. Additionally, Jude completed a one-year study in Human Rights at the Center for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (CPPHR).
Jude has contributed to the academic field as a temporary assistant lecturer in the Department of Music at the Faculty of Visual and Performing Arts, University of Jaffna.
