Jin Young Won is from Seoul, Korea. Her professional career launched when she joined NDT2 as an apprentice where she went on to perform with renowned companies such as Ballett Basel, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and Saarländische Staatstheater. Jin then transitioned to a freelance career based in Berlin for six years. Recently, she rejoined Ballett Basel under new direction for two seasons.

Throughout her career, she has danced and worked with esteemed choreographers, including Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Saburo Teshigawara, Johan Inger, Alexander Ekman, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Jo Strømgren, Emanuel Gat, among others.

In addition to performing, she frequently conducts workshops all over the world with a focus on body-mind connection, movement awareness and improvisation.
